What is EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a highly effective treatment model that has been the subject of much research and is used to treat the emotional and physical effects of trauma, PTSD and chronic stress. One of the most innovative uses of EMDR therapy has been in the treatment of performance-related problems. EMDR uses the same process to help decrease stress and anxiety surrounding work, school or other types of performance. Examples of performance-related problems may include:

  • Test anxiety

  • Public speaking, interviewing, and presentation fears

  • Anticipatory anxiety

  • Irregular performance

  • Poor ability to manage stress

  • Recovery from sports injuries
