CPJ RESIDENCY PROGRAM

The CPJ Residency Program offers a unique opportunity for Residents in Counseling to enhance their clinical skills and business acumen in a supportive, trauma-informed environment. This is a hybrid position offering counseling both in-person and via tele-health. Our program focuses on deepening knowledge in integrative treatments for stress, anxiety, and trauma, with a special emphasis on the nervous system, somatic interventions and polyvagal theory. Residents will also gain hands-on experience in clinical documentation and practice management, providing a well-rounded foundation for a successful career post-graduate school.

Our Approach

NERVOUS SYSTEM NOURISHMENT

Our program integrates Polyvagal Theory, somatic work, and ego states therapy to help residents understand and regulate the nervous system, equipping them to provide care that addresses the mind-body connection for treatment of anxiety, trauma and stress.

SUPERVISION

With experienced LPC supervisors, residents receive comprehensive guidance in both clinical skills and professional development, honing their therapeutic approach while fulfilling licensure requirements through a trauma-informed and strengths-based lens.

Professional Development

Our residency program provides training in the essential business aspects of running a therapy practice, from billing and clinical documentation to marketing and client retention, preparing residents for life beyond graduate school.

CLINICAL CONCEPTUALIZATION

Residents gain expertise in creating thorough, culturally responsive case conceptualizations that incorporate clinical documentation and assessment skills to prepare for state licensure exams. This includes focused time and accountability for licensure exam preparation.

COACHING

Residents receive ongoing coaching focused on professional development and emotional intelligence to enhance their interpersonal skills, build self-awareness, and improve leadership capabilities. Our goal is to develop well-rounded clinicians.
